What most people don’t realise, however, is that Vader had to work hard to acquire his deadly weapon. He reacted with lightning speed and grabbed Infil’a in a chokehold! Infil’a just managed to free himself from the chokehold with a Force blast. Astonished by Vader’s strength, the hermit explained that Vader should follow him up the mountain – if he could… At the same moment, a training druid from Infila opened a sluice, which released a gigantic waterfall and literally sprayed Vader away. After a brief inspection of the area, he found a somewhat remote, steep but dangerous alternative ascent. Without hesitation, the waterlogged cyborg took this route. Out of nowhere, Vader was attacked by carnivorous birdsand the Jedi Master’s training druids. Vader, who was unarmed at the time, fought against all his opponents, but with the help of the Force, his anger and his willpower, he was able to clear them out of the way with ease. Chapter 4 renewed confrontation renewed confrontation renewed confrontation Once at the top, the Dark Sithlord, scarred from the climb, grabbed the training sword from Infil’a’s druid and a fierce battle ensued between Darth Vader and Infil’a, but it was short-lived as one of Darth Vader’s legs gave way and broke in two due to the damage sustained from the birds’ attacks. Subsequently, the one-legged Anakin was thrown off the mountain by the Jedi Master with a Force push! Anakin was aware of the consequences that would await him if he returned to Palpatine both without his lightsaber and with damaged armour. Chapter 5 The turnaround The turnaround The turnaround Driven by the desire to gain new powers and, primarily, the will not to disappoint Palpatine, Darth Vader grabbed various parts of the training druid, which he himself had previously thrown off the mountain, and began to repair himself with these foreign body parts. Visually slightly changed, but more motivated than ever, the Dark Lord, equipped with the new parts of the training druid, paid another visit to Infil’a and confronted the Jedi Master again – only this time with no regard for casualties! The Jedi Master desperately pleaded with Vader to keep the inhabitants of the planet out of their fight, but at the same moment the dark Sith Lord destroyed the city’s large water reservoir. Infil’a desperately tried to prevent the destruction when the Sith in black armour seized the moment and used the Force to pull his lightsaber from the Jedi’s belt! The iconic villain then pushed the unarmed and desperate Jedi Master into the water after breaking his neck. The druid on Vader’s spaceship was programmed so that as soon as it detected a lightsaber in the vicinity of the dark cyborg Darth Vader, it would immediately take him to a very specific location : Mustava Vader took the lightsaber to a remote location on the planet Mustava and began to dismantle the saber. The biggest factor is the loss he fears for his beloved, secretly married wife Padmé Amidala. Fuelled by his fears of loss, the young Jedi has recurring nightmares with a clear message: Padmé will die giving birth to their children! Anakin had recently lost his mother and was tormented by constant feelings of guilt that he had not been there enough for her. This time, the young Jedi wanted to do everything right. He did not want to lose his beloved wife, who was expecting his children. Palpatine capitalised on the young Skywalker’s fears of loss and drew him to the dark side of the Force with precisely these fears, subsequently making him his right-hand man. The Emperor was very skilful and cunning in his plan to win Anakin, who had a glorious future ahead of him due to his gifts and talents, to the dark side. Videogames The tragedy surrounding Star Wars Battlefront 3 The video game Star Wars Battlefront 2, which was released on 28 October 2005 for Playstation 2, Xbox and PC, is without doubt one of the best known and most popular Star Wars video games ever. Since the game, which has captivated generations in front of their consoles or PCs to replay all the battles of the classic and prequel triology, sold like hot cakes, it was only a matter of time before the sequel Star Wars Battlefront 3 was released. The sales figures also spoke for themselves when the Los Angeles Times reported that the two games would total 10 million copies. It is therefore not far-fetched that Lucas Arts decided to publish a third instalment in the series in 2006. This sequel was to be much more extensive and bigger than the previous instalments in the now cult Star Wars Battlefront series. Both in terms of the size and scope of the video game, as well as the technologies used. Star Wars Battlefront 3 should be the biggest, best and most beautiful Star Wars Battlefront game ever. The player should be able to board a spaceship during a ground battle and fly into orbit to take part in a space battle. And all this without additional loading times! We take this article as an opportunity to tell you about the Star Wars battlefornt that we unfortunately never got and never will get: Since the game Star Wars Battlefront 3 never saw the light of day, please consider all information in this article as speculative or unconfirmed statements. None of the information has been officially confirmed! Chapter 1 New development studio A new development studio has been hired to turn all the “too good to be true” changes into reality. “Free Radical” was commissioned for this mammoth project by Gegore Lucas Arts instead of ‘Pandemic’, the creators of the first two video games in the Star Wars Battlefront saga. Chapter 2 Ongoing development Although there are no official sources for this information, it has been repeatedly rumoured that the third part of the Star Wars Battlefornt video game series should be released in 2008. A trailer for the successor to the cult games was also presented at the annual ‘E3’ video games fair in 2007. The euphoria surrounding the third instalment of the Star Wars Battlefront saga even went so far that the successor “Star Wars Battlefront 4” is said to have already been agreed internally! According to various sources, the fourth instalment of the Battlefront saga would have been based on the most popular “what if scenarios”. In my eyes, this concept sounds very exciting, as a game with infinite content could have been created here. A unique feature (which, by the way, has never been realised in any Star Wars video game to date) was that you could fight both air and ground battles on the same map in real time without loading times or other interruptions! A trailer that surfaced on the internet and was actually only used for internal ticks shows what the game, which never saw the light of day, was supposed to have to offer: Primary and secondary heroes The game should have been divided into primary and secondary heroes. In addition to the usual heroes such as Anakin Skywalker, Master Joda, Obi Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader and numerous other well-known Jedi, there should also have been a new Jedi named ‘Ferodah’ designed exclusively for this game! Ram Cotan, who was known from the video game ‘The Force Unleashed’, was also supposed to be playable. On the dark side, you would have had the opportunity to slip into the role of Cout Dooku, Ventris, Darth Maul, General Greevis, the Emperor and Darth Vader as well as an unknown character with the concept name ‘X1’, who is somewhat reminiscent of Emperor Palpatine! The secondary heroes included clones, Skytrooper, Padmé Amidala, Tafuel, Chewbacker, Han Solo, Leya Organa and Lando Kraisma. Probably the biggest German-speaking YouTuber “Star Wars Stories“, who is also known by his real name Jakob Sam, published his first book entitled “The unofficial quiz for Star Wars fans” on April 16, 2024. The beautifully designed book offers the reader 300 questions on 144 pages in which the reader can put their knowledge of Star Wars to the test. Prove is a good keyword, because the YouTuber organized a big quiz show at this event, where visitors could win numerous prizes (including Star Wars Lego toys, Star Wars figures, etc.). Numerous Star Wars fans gathered on the 2nd floor of Thalia on Mariahilferstraße in Vienna and were eager to answer the questions that Jakob Sam had written down in his book. Several rows of seats were provided with an aisle to go to the front, which was placed in the middle. On the left side of the stage was a large monitor on which the current question was displayed. From the audience’s perspective, Jakob was to the left of the monitor. He had a high table on which his Macbook and a glass of water were placed. Chapter 3 Let the show begin Jakob Sam was received with thunderous applause by the visitors to the quiz show. As the YouTuber and now also book author did not have to introduce himself to the visitors, he began the quiz after a brief questioning of the audience. At the beginning of each round, a question was asked in the room. Whoever could answer the question correctly the quickest by raising their hands was allowed to enter the stage. There, after correctly answering 3 questions from the newly published book “The unofficial quiz for Star Wars fans”, the visitor received a gift, which the candidate was allowed to choose for themselves, presented on a table (of course, the products were limited). The items to be won in the quiz show were original licensed Star Wars merchandise provided by Thalia and Jakob Sam. Among the contestants was a young boy who was very excited but did a great job with the questions. The way Jakob interacted with the candidates is extremely positive. With his friendly and helpful manner, he helped the candidates with subtle hints to find out the correct answers to incorrectly answered questions. It was not an isolated case, for example, that the host of the show and author of the book used jokers and subtle hints to help the candidates answer all the questions correctly, so that the candidate was able to get their prize. Jakob was not too harsh with his viewers and often gave them the chance to improve their answers, gave the candidates 50:50 and audience jokers (which he subtly influenced :P) and even showed one candidate the solution on his Macbook! Chapter 4 Show interlude during the break After about half an hour, the quiz show was interrupted by a short breather. But the entertainment didn’t stop even during the break, as the LSBS Lightsaber Battleshow gave a live performance to keep the visitors entertained! A woman and a man, who were supposed to represent Sith and Jedi, fought a short duel on stage. Plastic laser swords were used as weapons. The spectacle was accompanied by well-known Star Wars music. Chapter 5 final quiz round After the short show, Jakob started the quiz for the final round. The last visitors had the same selection process as before (answering a question correctly as quickly as possible) and the chance to win great prizes in the quiz. At the beginning of the round, a question was asked in the room. The fastest person to answer the question correctly by raising their hands was allowed to enter the stage. There, after correctly answering 3 questions from the newly published book “The unofficial quiz for Star Wars fans”, the visitor received a gift, which the candidate was allowed to choose for themselves, presented on a table (of course, the products were limited). Chapter 6 Fanservice – autographs and photos After the quiz show, you could buy the book for €16 at one of the Talia cash desks and have it signed by Jakob Sam. What I found really remarkable was that Jakob took time for each person and had a short conversation with them and, if they wanted, took a photo with them as well as signing the book. I told him that his YouTube channel with its interesting videos was one of the main reasons why we started the starwarsuniversum web project, which was still known as Star Wars Fan at the time. He then asked me for the URL of this page and that I should send it to him via Instagram direct message. In addition to the fact that I was extremely pleased with the thoughtful gesture, it also shows me that he really cares about his fans. Afterwards, he signed an autograph card and my book. Chapter 7 Our opinion To summarize, I am very enthusiastic about the event. Jakob did a great job running the event and responded sensitively to the respective candidates. Videogames First impression Star Wars The Old Republic As an avid Star Wars and role-playing fan, I have always been looking for a video game where I could create my own character and then make the galaxy unsafe with my own personality. Starting with the character’s individual appearance through to the character’s attitude and fighting style. What a dream it would be if you could experience all of this in the Star Wars universe…. And this is exactly where Star Wars The Old Republic comes in. As I wrongly assumed until 3 May 2024 that you had to pay a monthly fee to play this online MMO, I always avoided the game despite its excellent reputation. One evening, as I was browsing through the Steam store on my PC again, I decided without further ado to finally download and test the game. It’s a free-to-play game, so apart from the memory used, the only thing that could have been a mistake for me was the time invested. I confidently started the download and waited until the 52.07 GB installation was complete. But what was my first impression of the game? Does the gameplay for which the computer game is so well known also work for me and will it offer me many hours of fun in my beloved epic? Let me give you my first impression of Star Wars The Old Republic in this article. Have fun. . Chapter 1 Charakter Editor Right at the start of the game, you are faced with a fundamental decision. Will your character act for the light or dark side and thus represent a Jedi or a Sith? At first I was surprised and admittedly quite overwhelmed by this decision, but in the end I decided in favour of the dark side of the Sith. Now it was straight on to the character editor. Between various face templates, beards, scars, face paints and the choice between humans or aliens, you could also choose your fighting style. After trying out the available components for a while, I had my Sith ready and started my adventure full of anticipation. Chapter 2 The beginning of the epic Sith Warrior story The Sith Warrior The SITH IMPERIUM is tightening its grip on the galaxy. The Galactic Republic and its Jedi defenders are weakened and vulnerable after the Empire’s successful military campaign. After negotiating a fragile peace, the Empire sends all potential Sith to the Academy on the inhospitable planet KORRIBAN for cruel and deadly trials. Today, one of the greatest talents among the budding warriors has been secretly summoned by an influential overseer to face the trials of the dark side much sooner than expected … Immediately after the text, which is presented in typical Star Wars style, a ship loads up on a planet called Korriban. It is our warrior, who climbs out of the spaceship with two metal sticks strapped around his back and makes his way to a person already waiting on the landing pad. Not even in front of the waiting person, he introduces himself. So we are dealing with “Warden Tremel“, who has the task of supervising the Sith tests. These tests are used to determine whether a candidate is worthy of the Sith Order or not. And it is precisely this test that we must also undergo. Chapter 3 The controls Afterwards I was able to walk my first metres with the previously created Sith and had to realise that the controls take a lot of getting used to! At the time of writing this ‘first experience with the PC game Star Wars The Old Republic’ report, I was completely overwhelmed with the controls. First of all, I should mention that I play the game on a PC and am therefore used to a certain type of control. However, the game breaks with this conventional control method and replaces it with a non-interchangeable, cumbersome and decelerating control system that has cost me a lot of nerves and still does. So you don’t move your character with the classic AWSD buttons, but run forwards with the W button, as you normally would. However, to manoeuvre your warrior sideways (!) you have to stop and turn the camera to the left or right using the A and D buttons in order to continue running in that direction. As confusing as the control behaviour I have just described sounds, it also plays well. Even after 3 hours of active playtime, I haven´t got used to the controls in the smallest way. As the battles all take place in real time (not statically), you take a lot of avoidable hits – at least at the beginning – which caused me some frustration. I’m curious to see whether the, in my opinion, very unusual controls will keep me from continuing to play for a long time, despite the great gameplay loop and the superbly staged atmosphere. Chapter 4 The Sith Trial: Retrieve the blade from Ajuntha Pall’s tomb So we head towards the tomb of Sith founder Ajuntha Pall to carry out our mission. Fortunately, once we have received the mission and reached our destination, all that separates us geographically is an inner courtyard adjoining a cave or tomb. We enter this and encounter our first opponents. 4 K’lor slug worms attack us at the same time. However, due to our low level, we can only defend ourselves with one attack at a time. After a few recurring K’lor snail worms, we reach level 2 after a few minutes of play. And this is where the game achieves something that many role-playing games do: You feel vindicated in what you are doing and become stronger to boot. Once you have defeated the K’lor snail worms, the next adversaries are waiting for you just a few metres further on. On the plus side, they are much stronger and more powerful than you, but attacking them remains optional. I attacked the waiting troops during my playthrough and,
