QUI-GON WOULD HAVE KILLED DARTH MAUL
Qui Gon knelt patiently on the floor. Fully focussed, with the knowledge that the energy gate separating his Padawan Obi Wan Kenobi and Qui Gon Jin was closing so that together they could continue to defeat the mysterious Sith Darth Maul with his iconic double-bladed sword, he knelt on the floor to meditate during the short breather. When the gate opens again, Qui Gon activates his lightsaber at lightning speed and attacks the tattooed Sevrik. It only occurred to him later that his student Obi Wan could help him when the energy gate closed again and he was pinned between the gates once more.
Heavy blows followed, one harder than the other. The experienced Jedi, who was currently fighting alone against his adversary, noticed how his opponent was gradually losing patience. The experienced Jedi foresaw a feint by Maul that would counter his lightsabre combat form. So Anakin’s discoverer deviated from his usual fighting form and countered his adversary’s sneaky attack. Instead of striking from above like his opponent, he wiped his lightsaber through Darth Maul’s stomach from the side, which split the antagonist of the first Star Wars film in two! Lying on the ground, the deformed Sevrek didn’t beg for mercy at all, but used the last of his strength to shout at Qui Gon Jin that his revenge was coming and that one man would destroy them all…. Darth Siddius.
Chapter 1
Who was Darth Siddius?
Three years went by…
The last words of the double-bladed warrior left big questions unanswered and were not to leave Master Joda or the entire Jedi Order in peace. Ever since the events on Naboo, the Jedi had been puzzling over who this ominous Darth Siddius could be! As the name contains the well-known first name ‘Darth’, which characterises a Sith, the Jedi realised that they were dealing with a serious threat. Stunned, they realised that for decades they had been under the misapprehension that they had defeated their adversaries, the Sith!
The Jedi and higher ranks of the Jedi Order had no answer to the question ‘Who was Darth Siddius?’ mentioned at the beginning.
Chapter 2
Training to become a Jedi
As the story progressed, it was not Obi Wan Kenobi who would take over the young Skywalker’s training, as was already known in the canon, but his discoverer Qui Gon Jin. The experienced Jedi knew how important his mother was to Anakin Skywalker, who grew up on the desert planet of Naboo. Based on this indicator, the wise master taught the aspiring Jedi early on in his training that Anakin should always trust his feelings. He shouldn’t suppress them, as many Jedi and Jedi Masters would have him do. Instead, he should accept the feelings that arise and see them as part of him.
Even if the Jedi Council did not entirely agree with Qui Gon Jin’s methods of teaching the Jedi, Anakin Skywalker and his master made a great team!
But what happened to Obi Wan Kenobi later on?
After the events on Naboo, the Jedi, who was still in training at the time, completed his exams and became a Jedi Knight! But after just a few weeks, the former pupil of Qui Gon Jin was already behaving very differently from usual. It appeared that Obi Wan Kenobi was avoiding his former master. The newly minted Jedi felt neglected and outcast, as all eyes were on Qui Gon and the young Skywalker after Maul’s death, even though Obi Wan had also played a significant part in the fight against the Sith.
This growing and ever-increasing resentment, coupled with dissatisfaction with Anakin’s Jedi Council training, was to have even more serious consequences….
Chapter 3
Captivity
7 years later….
A mysterious arrow from a bounty hunter led Obi Wan, now an experienced and powerful Jedi, to the isolated planet of Kamino to check on the current state of production of the clone army commissioned by the Senate, and then to Gionosis, where he discovered a secret droid factory! The hidden modern production facility for battle druids strongly indicated that the armies produced here were being prepared for war! This worried Obi Wan and so he sent a radio message to Coruscant. However, the normally cautious Jedi caused too much of a stir and was taken into custody. The Republic had to set out immediately to rescue Jedi Kenobi, who was serving loyally for the Senate! However, they lacked both the resources and the army to do so.
Qui Gon Jin and Anakin were unaware of all the turmoil in the galaxy, as the two had gone into exile to Aldeolin, a small river moon in the Alterim, years ago. In the past, disputes arose time and again that were never fully resolved, so Anakin’s discoverer, who later became known as Darth Vader, moved into exile.
And so the two lived in exile on Aldolin as pupil and master, meditating and training for the great day when Anakin would fulfil his great prophecy.
Chapter 4
double game
On Gionosis, however, Count Dooku, the former master of Qui Gon Jin and disciple of Grand Master Yoda, confronted his new prisoner. He told him about the doomed Jedi Order and how a dark Sith named Darth Siddius had been leading the Jedi Order around by the nose for years. Obi Wan remembered the name mentioned. After all, it was none other than the one the mysterious warrior with the double-bladed sword had mentioned. When Dooku offered to ally with him after a heated discussion, Obi Wan saw this as the ideal opportunity to act as a double agent and agreed to the offer.
Chapter 5
Order 66
It’s been 3 years and we’re in the middle of the Clone Wars when one order changes everything: Order 66!
Everywhere the clones turned against their Jedi and liquidated them in a treacherous manner. Chancellor Palpatine, who turned out to be the Emperor and ruler of the Empire, tried in vain to find a special Jedi, the young Skywalker.
However, it was quiet on Aldeulen. Students and masters in exile were unaware of the already executed Order 66 until a holon message reached them! It showed the Emperor murdering Master Windu by stabbing the completely deformed Jedi in the chest with his lightsaber and threatening that more and more people would die if Anakin Skywalker did not visit the temple on Corruscant! Outraged and horrified by the events shown, Qui Gon and Anakin Skywalker decided to leave their exile despite differences with the Jedi Council and travelled to Coruscant. When he saw the Jedi Temple with all the corpses, he was stunned. He could never have imagined something like this in his wildest dreams.
When Qui Gon realised that Siddius had lied, he heard a sinister laugh behind his back. It was the dark lord with Obi Wan Kenobi at his side. He couldn’t resist the dark side and had fallen completely under its spell! During a brief exchange of words, the Emperor told his adversaries that Obi Wan Kenobi had killed Palpatine’s apprentice Count Dooku months ago in order to swear his allegiance to the Emperor.
Chapter 6
Battle between former master and disciple
Obi Wan’s former master could not bear this thought, activated his lightsaber and attacked Obi Wan. He could not bear the fact that his former pupil had been manipulated in such a way and had even killed his old master. How could the wise Jedi be so wrong about a person? Palaptine’s new henchman knew how to counter this attack and so they engaged in a fierce duel. It all happened very quickly. Sparks flew around, lightsabres clashed and suddenly a shrill scream rang out! It was Obi Wan’s voice that lit up the room. Qui Gon had caught him by the foot. The Jedi stood over his former Padawan and, despite a growing pang of conscience, he went for the final blow, which he cancelled at the last second! He couldn’t do it. He simply couldn’t kill his former pupil. The two of them had too many fond memories and experiences together.
Chapter 7
The twist
The Emperor took advantage of the Jedi’s moment of weakness and fired a concentrated charge of Force lightning at his adversary! Qui Gon flinched at first, but then he just lay motionless. The tide had turned back in favour of the dark side.
Anakin, who until then had only been watching the action from afar in bewilderment, cried out. Siddius, however, merely gave him a mocking laugh. “I feel your anger, your rage! Use your feelings!’ he replied to Anakin Skywalker. And that’s exactly how it should be…
But the young Skywalker was aware of his feelings thanks to his training with Qui Gon Jin, activated his lightsaber and stormed towards the wounded Obi Wan, who had picked himself up in the meantime. However, after 3 powerful light-sabre blows, he was lying on the ground again.
Good my boy....Good.....Kill me! Do it!
Emperor in fictional fan theory
the Emperor shouted commandingly to the young Skywalker. But Anakin threw away his lightsaber and ran to his master. The Emperor slowly followed him. Manipulatively, he told Anakin that he could bring his beloved back to life, but Anakin remained silent. Suddenly, the young Skywalker made a spinning motion, had Qui Gon’s lightsaber in his hand and threw it at the Emperor. In mid-air, the young Jedi activated the sabre with the Force, which pierced the Emperor like a spear! The Emperor fell to the ground, but Anakin didn’t give him a glance. His gaze was focussed on his master, who was acting more like a father to him. The saviour had to watch as his master and confidant died…
With the help of Qui Gon Jin’s Force Ghost, Anakin was able to find Yoda on the planet Dagobar and other survivors of Order 66 and not only begin to train the next generation of Jedi and rebuild the Jedi Order, but also to revise the Jedi mindset and mentality. Anakin worked a lot with the new Republic government. Especially with Padmé Amidale, a former Senator of Naboo and current Chancellor. But that’s another story…
How did you like this fan theory where Anakin would never have fallen to the Dark Force and thus never become the most legendary antagonist in film history? Would you have welcomed this more harmonious twist to the story? What did you think of the final battle? Would it have been conceivable for you to see Obi Wan Kenobi fighting alongside the Emperor instead of Anakin Skywalker?
Let us discuss in the comments and let me know what you thought of this fan theory.
