When Skywalker encountered the Emperor in the chambers of his base, he immediately sensed that his young henchman wanted to liquidate him. Palpatine was surprised by Vader’s actions, but was lulled into a sense of security by his abilities. One of the most impressive battles ever fought ensued. Anakin had internalised Palpatine’s fighting style down to the last detail and knew about all his weaknesses. Skywalker had good cards in this fight for life and death. After all, nobody knew more about the weaknesses in Palpatine’s fighting style than his pupil Darth Vader. Pupil and master fought a duel on a level the galaxy had never seen before. When Anakin was subjected to an Emperor’s lightning attack, the Chosen One must use all his strength to withstand this ultimate assault. The Emperor takes this opportunity to sever the young and passionate Skywalker’s hands from his body, just as Anakin once did to Count Doku. Anakin was certain he would not make it out of this situation alive. He had failed. As Anakin’s former master, with a sneer and a mocking laugh, was about to deliver the killing blow, a laser shot rang out!
